research report

Unlike many wars that our world has seen throughout its duration of life; such as WW2

There was a war that did not cause harm through fighting physically, although there were deaths as a result of the inevitable conflicts.

Which introduced us to The Cold War

-a state of hostility between rival countries, that stops short of actual fighting (Watts, 9)

So what caused the cold war? These questions cannot be answered exactly, unless you realize t what happened and which actions followed.

The Yalta Conference
Was a conference held in Crimea on February 4th-11th, 1945. Which had brought together the allied leaders(website one)

During the conference, Poland was given back its independance and its national elections. Yugoslavia was given its own government. in both cases, Nazi and facists leaders were specifically prohibited.

After the conference, friction arose over in Germam surrender negotiations in Italy. Franklin D. Roosevelt died on April 24th, 1945 (Fleming, 821). Speeches were made by newly elected Truman and opposing governer Molotov.

The speech of Harry S. Truman newly appointed American leader, was of great importance. "It is onw of the fundamentals of American policy," Truman announced, "That we shall refuse to recognize any government imposed upon any nation by the force of any foreign power." (LaFeber, 1). Molotov also made an opposing
-This shows that the successfull alliance had already divided on ideological, economic and political issues. Which I believe was an immediate cause of the alliance's division.

---------------

There were many more issues that were faced by American's regarding the Soviet Union and space advancements such as Lunik.
Lunik was a rocket, that like the rocket boys launched but better, and there were three Luniks. The Lunik was a rocket that carried scientific instruments which were used, among many things, to measure the moon and the Earth's magnetic fields as well as belts of radiation surrounding the Earth. (Watts, 183). These launches of Lunik also frightened American's for fears that these rockets were not only for measuring these things, but many believed that it was for the Russians to "spy" on them.

((** PUT THIS BEFORE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS**))
There were many more issues that arose after the launching of the rockets and one of these conflicts that continued was the Berlin wall.
The Berlin wall was built by the Soviets to stop the flood of people attempting to escape from Eastern Germany. This shows how immature people can be, this wall was built by the Soviets to provide assurance that the democratic ways stayed in the southern parts of Germany.

There were many more issues that pertained to the Cold War.
